True Love On A Dating App | A Romantic Cabo Wedding

5/12/2017

We could say so many things about this wonderful couple and their very special Cabo wedding day. Serendipity was in the air as it rained for a while that day. However, the rain was a poignant touch that seems to be a family tradition since it also rained on the bride mother’s wedding and also on the grandmothers.

We’d love to share the bride’s and groom’s write up on their big day. Hope you enjoy this stunning recap of Corinne & Chris’s Cabo wedding as much as we did!

From the bride – about having a Destination Cabo Wedding:

“We have family in California and Ohio, so doing a destination wedding seemed like the best way to get everyone we love in one place, and we loved the idea of everyone away for a fun vacation too! We went to Cabo for our 1st anniversary and fell in love with the city, food and culture, so it was a natural location choice for us. We even had drinks at Cabo Surf Hotel during that trip, which helped us in choosing it as our venue location.

Lynette and the whole Amy Abbott Events team were SO instrumental in the planning and execution of our day. They handled so much of the work that I couldn’t do remotely, and introduced us to an amazing team of vendors (like you!) who were able to make our vision into a reality. We couldn’t have done it without them! Along with the entire staff at Cabo Surf Hotel who were a pleasure to work with, and treated our guests like royalty during our stay”

From the groom – about their love story (grab a tissue…!):

“I first locked eyes with Corinne through my phone — we were introduced through the dating app, Hinge. Online dating was new to both of us, but I reached out anyway. At first Corinne wasn’t sure about meeting people online but thankfully, she was convinced into responding and we set our first date.

A few days later, on September 11, 2014, we met for the first time at Calzones in North Beach.  We learned that we had a few mutual friends, and had frequented many of the same bars and restaurants in San Francisco. We shared countless laughs and stories about our lives as we sat outside taking in the city. As the evening progressed, I knew she was special.

Jumping Into Commitment With Two Feet

We both jumped into this relationship head first. After two months of serious dating we sat together on her roof gazing at the sun setting over North Beach. I couldn’t help myself and I asked her to be my girlfriend. I was a nervous wreck, but she looked me in the eyes and responded that she would love that. She quickly became my best friend, and we spent many hours dreaming of our future together.

Our relationship continued to grow and five months into knowing each other, we embarked on a road-trip of a lifetime — ten days of exploring the Pacific Northwest and skiing in Canada! If we could survive a trip like that, anything was possible! Corinne and I quickly became adventure buddies as we planned trips to far off lands. We have always dreamed big, and it didn’t take me long to realize I would be with her forever.

The Proposal

It was Sunday, March 13, 2016 and the day had finally come that I would propose. I had held onto the ring all weekend waiting for the right time to pop the question. It was going to be perfect — I knew exactly what I wanted to say and had it all planned out. I was going to blow her away with how smooth and romantic I was. The plan was to surprise her with her evening ritual of having tea before bed, so I started making her a cup in a mug that had “Marry Me” printed across the side.

As I walked toward Corinne with the mug, my heartbeat quickened and I became very nervous. I started speaking and completely forgot everything I wanted to say, forgot to drop down to one knee, and even forgot to actually ASK her to marry me! I may not remember exactly what I blurted out but in the end, I got the ring on her finger. It didn’t matter that things didn’t go according to plan because through laughter and happy tears she said “Yes!” That moment made me the happiest man on earth — I was finally engaged to this amazing woman. This is the biggest adventure of them all and we cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together!”
