Arleen and Trey met in college but didn’t embark on a romantic relationship until years later. After getting engaged in June 2017, their wedding was set for June 16, 2018. Arleen and Trey chose the JW Marriott in San Jose del Cabo as their wedding venue and set about planning an unforgettable wedding weekend at JW Marriott.
Choosing The Venue For The Wedding At JW Marriott
Choosing the JW Marriott as their wedding venue was easy once they laid eyes on this magnificent property. Arleen and Trey completely fell in love with the resort and their welcoming staff.
Welcome Fiesta At The JW Marriott
We kicked off this fun wedding weekend with a Welcome Fiesta at the JW Marriott. Arleen wanted to embrace her Mexican heritage but give the décor a modern twist. The amphitheater at JW Marriott was the perfect unique venue for this event.
We combined hightops, lounge, and park style lounging areas with mix Mexican pillows and tapetes. Black barro vases were mixed with Molcajetes and handmade paper flowers. The color scheme was black and white with bright pops of color.
Rehearsal Dinner At Acre
Mariachi played as guests arrive to drink palomas poolside until sunset. The décor was soft tones of blue yellow and neutrals with clear vases and lanterns. A slideshow of Arleen and Trey shown to the guests was a highlight of the night. This was a night full of speeches from close friends with a joyful combination of laughter and happy tears.
The Wedding Day
The bride & groom wanted to create a timeless, romantic look for their big day. Therefore, Arleen selected a neutral color scheme with all white florals and green accents.
The music of live musicians filled the night air: a string quartet for the ceremony, mariachi (a favorite of the bride’s grandmother) for cocktail and Kilometro Band for dinner and reception. Mirrored accents of the head table and the lounge coffee tables accentuated the candlelight.
A marble wall was installed behind the head table with floating greenery and white flowers as a beautiful backdrop for the bride and groom. Carrera Marble was used to accent the seating chart, dance floor, trusses, and bars.
A ceiling of hanging flowers was suspended over the dance floor and was the focal point of the reception.
The guests spent the night dancing under a sky of roses.
A Note From The Bride
I learned that no matter how well you plan, life is going to throw you a curve ball. The best thing to do is to just sit back, take it all in, and enjoy the experience. Because before we knew it, it was all over.
Our wedding at JW Marriott was us: laughter, tears, dancing, tequila, but the happiest just being surrounded by all the people we love most.
